6 Tips For Raising Search Engine Rankings

I like getting as much free organic search engine traffic I can for my keywords as I work from home full time. The income I make online is the only income I make, for this reason I think before working.

IMPORTANT: You do not need to quit your day job to work at homne full time to make good money online. It’s very doable part-time. Of course it will likely take longer to get the ball rolling however once you do you are on the road to your freedom.

For me, due to the fact I work at home blogging full time, I use my spare time to for my hobbies like gardening. You will be able to do the same when you have built up a good income over time.

Follow these six tips to grow your search engine ranking and you can begin making more money online, sooner.

NOTE: I am not comfortable with PPC (Pay Per Click) so I make my web sites SE friendly. I focus my content on keywords that earn money. I utilize free organic search engine traffic to make money through affiliate marketing.

1. First And Most Important Are Your Keywords

I said I am a blogger but truthfully it doesn’t matter if you focus on blogging or have a static site you can earn an income as it’s all about the keywords you use when you are creating content.

Simply put the keywords you pick will make or break you.

My suggestion would be to use the free Google Adwords Keyword Tool to find the best keywords for your web site. Just do a search in Google for ‘Adwords Keyword Tool’. You will likely find it’s the top one showing in the search engines results.

You will be able to find a lot of variations of your keyword plus you will also be able to see the amount of searches each keyword term gets monthly along with an indicator bar showing competition.

Competition is Your Friend, Don’t Fear It

DO NOT allow yourself to be fooled into thinking you will get wealthy because you have found a phrase without any competition.

Just remember competition is needed and means otheres are most likely making money with those keywords and you can too, if you put in the time.

Go for longtail keywords, these are keywords that are usually greater than 3 words in length. I like 4-7 words as they seem to work best for me, sometimes I use slightly longer phrases.

2. Purchase A Domain Name That’s Keyworded

Okay, this is not vital to your success but it’s a factor in the overall picture and can make a difference which could be the difference between having that #1 position or not, so if you can get a keyworded domain I suggest you do it.

Example: Say your chosen niche is backyard gardening and you want to give tips then you should buy a domain that using those keywords, something like backyardgardeningtips.com

If you discover that backyardgardeningtips.com is not available you can try using a hyphen between words to see if it’s available. Another option is to buy a domain with a different extender than .com

3. Make Use of Your Keywords in Your Navigation Menus

Menus are hyperlinks that jump to other pages on your site so it’s wise for them to be keyworded. Your menus will be more relevant to your content in the eyes of the search engines.

Note: If you are blogging like I am you want to use your keyword phrases in your categories too.

4. Your HyperLinks Should Be Keyworded

Search spiders view your pages and make a decision as to what your page is. Because of this it’s better if you put some thought into your keyword usage or they might think you are all about something completely different.

If you get off topic too much means you may not be located in the search engines for the phrases you thought you would.

Steps one and two are important but step 3 is too and which is to use keyword phrases in your anchor text.

5. Update Your Site With Relevant Content

I said I’m a blogger so for me updating my sites is normal, however, those with static web sites quite often build the site and never update it again.

It is better to update, even a static site, periodically with well written keyworded content. The search engines eat it up as fast as they can get it.

6. Instead of Submitting Your Web Site Submit A Few Articles

I may be off a bit here but I truly believe it’s better to have someone else to say my site is worth spidering than it is to submit my site to the search engines.

To me it makes more sense to let the search engines find my site naturally.

If you were to write a few good articles using your keywords and publish them on the top article directories you would get faster results getting indexed by the search engines.

These tips are just some of the things you can do to make your web site better than others. The more you do the better your chances at success because most people are lazy and try to get by with as little effort as they can making it easy to leave them in your dust.
